Dominick is here!

I am finally at a point where I can sit down and post again! A lot has happen since the time I updated the blog. We officially are all moved in the new house and baby Dominick made his grand entrance into the world! Things have been a little crazy adjusting to having a newborn while unpacking and trying to get settled in the new house but I wouldn't change a thing.

Dominick made his debut at 1:39 am on February 13th. He was 6 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long. He was very anxious to make an appearance as I started in labor at 11pm and he was here in 2 and half hours! Everything went well and we were so excited to finally meet him! It was a truly emotional and humbling experience and we feel so blessed that he was healthy. Luke and I are very much in love with him!

We spent two nights in the hospital which were a total blur with the constant activity and lack of sleep. We were so happy to come home on Friday to my parents house and spend our final night there. We moved in the rest of our stuff in on Saturday and are officially settling in. Since I have been spending a lot of time at home over the last week it's been great to be in a house this beautiful and comfortable!

Here are some pictures from the hospital right after he was born.

 Proud Daddy!

Here are some more pictures that I have captured of his first days here. It's crazy that I can already see so many changes since the first day he was here.

In the beginning he slept so much, I was finally able to snap one with his eyes open!

The house is definitely a work in progress but thanks to Luke we have made a dent in things. Here are some pictures of what we have done so far.

The baby's swing has become a fixture in our great room. It has been a lifesaver!

We have had a lot of visitors over the last week and a half and are so thankful for all of the gifts and well wishes! Getting the house decorated has definitely taking the backseat to bonding with the baby ,keeping him happy, and trying to get some rest so it will be a slower process than normal. I have never taken so many naps in my life! I will continue to post pictures of Dominick and the house as both will be changing a lot over the next couple weeks! Thanks for checking in!

The baby has a nursery!

With the baby holding out coming into the world and the house being done sooner than expected it has bought us sometime to move into the house and get ready for his arrival! As I said, the house was cleaned last week and what a difference that made! It finally feels like a house and not a construction zone. All of our belongings were delivered on Friday and we were able to get everything in and unpacked by Sunday. It was a lot of work but we definitely feel like we got a lot accomplished. It was a huge milestone for me to get the nursery almost completed. The baby finally has a place to lay his little head!

Check out the pictures to see the progress...

Hanging out in my glider chair. Good thing its so comfy because I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of sleepless nights here.

The nursery coming together

Here are some pictures of the rest of the house. With Adam and my mom's help all day Saturday we were able to get so much done. Its started to look a lot more homey :)

I had to take a few pictures right after the house was cleaned. I don't know if the house will ever be this spotless again!

This console was a Craig's list find. We were super excited to find something that matched our table so well.

Finally have our wine stash back! Only a little longer before I can enjoy a taste!

39 Weeks Pic!

Thanks for checking in! I feel truly blessed to be moving into a house this beautiful! Luke is so talented and really has an eye for all of the details. I really think he thought of everything we could possibly want or need. It makes it even more exciting that baby Dominick is almost here. 4 more days until my due date! Time will tell when he decides to make his debut!

And the countdown is on!

Officially 11 more days until by due date and we are getting so close to finishing the house!

Last weekend Luke's Dad (Don) and Adam came over to help Luke finish all of the electrical work, get more lights installed and get ready for the electrical inspection. Luke's Mom (Jean) was a huge help working to get the outlet covers on and help the guys out with little things around the house. The stone on the fireplace was completed, the kitchen sink was installed, more lights got put in, counter tops were installed, and the backsplashes were completed. The carpets went in on Friday so we were able to pick up Dominick's crib and dresser. I would just love to get the nursery set up before he decides to come! Check out the pictures to see the progress.

The foyer chandelier finally got here. Luke almost gave me a heart attack installing it!

With a lot of the dirty work complete, we are looking forward to having the house cleaned this week so we can start moving some of our stuff in! I can't wait to take pictures then! As Luke continues to work on the house, I keep trying to get ready mentally and physically for the baby. With all of the sicknesses going around, I have been focused on staying rested and in good health. I had a great doctor's appointment on Friday but they still couldn't give me an idea of when! Things are progressing normally and the baby is still healthy which is all that matters! Everyone has their guess as to when I will go but we will just have to wait and see!

Below is a picture of Pinterest inspired project I completed for Dominick's nursery this past weekend :)

My 38th week picture. Never did I think my belly would be this big!

I will try to post again at the end of this week when I get pictures of the clean house. It will be nice to go over there and not get covered in dust!
