An exciting for week for the house and baby!

The pictures are worth a thousand words! We got windows this week which makes it look like a real house. Luke was so excited for this step because he was really anticipating seeing the black windows installed. This picture also captures the masons building the chimney up to match the new roof line.

I went over to the house yesterday to check everything out and took pictures of the inside as well. The electrical work has all been completed, new stair cases installed and the fireplace is in.

Here is a picture of the foyer from the front door.

On to the news about the baby...I had another ultrasound this week as I am just shy of 32 weeks. Here is a new pic of baby Dominick. Its a little hard to see but you can make out his face and little body. He is just about 4 lbs now and the doctor said I can expect him to be anywhere from 7 to 8 lbs by the time he is born! So hard for me to believe I'll be able to carry a baby that big around. lol

Here is a new picture of the belly. Its definitely bigger from the last post!

I hope you are enjoying seeing the progress of the house and news about the baby. Feel free to leave comments and feedback. I would love to hear from you! I hope everyone has a safe and very happy holiday!

And we have a roof!

It's been a while since I posted but I wanted to wait until there was some significant progress made at the house. The framing process has officially been completed and we finally have a roof! You can also see we now have a porch framed out and a front door. Luke has plans to work all weekend with the help of his Dad, some friends and a couple electricians to get all of the electrical work complete. The windows are being delivered Monday and installed on Tuesday. As you can see from the pictures its really coming along!

Meanwhile, I have officially completed by 30th week of pregnancy! Here is a picture of me last week dressed up for the Braskem Christmas Party. The belly is getting bigger! The baby is approximately the size of a large jicama. Don't worry if you had no idea what that is because I didn't! I googled it and it is a crispy, sweet and edible root in case you are curious. lol

Luke and I attended our 2nd Child Birthing Class last night at the hospital. We got the official tour of the hospital and the rundown on where to go when I go into labor. It's really starting to feel real!
Next week I have an ultrasound scheduled where the doctor is going to predict how big baby Dominick is going to be. Stay tuned :)

We are still framing!

I wanted to wait to post again until there was real progress made on the house. There has been a lot more work completed on the framing process as the framers started putting up the trusses and building the roof rafters today. Its really started to look like a real house now! We are hoping to have the roof framing done and the shingles on by Friday. Fingers crossed we don't get anymore rain before then.

Ever since we started this process, Luke has been saying he wants a wood burning stove in his man cave. He found a reasonably priced one on Craig's list and picked it up on Saturday. There wasn't anyone around to help him lift it so he used the fork lift to get into the garage. That thing has really come in handy!

As Luke has been focused on keeping the house moving a long, I have been working on the baby part. :) I have officially completed by 28th week of pregnancy. It seems crazy to me that I only have approximately 12 more weeks to go!

The fabric for the nursery arrived today so my mom and I are very excited to start working on it.

Putting the prego lady to work!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! There was some progress made at the house over the holiday weekend as were there some unexpected bumps in the road. More of the framing process was completed and the concrete was poured for the foundation of the addition and garage. Luke worked all weekend to take down an existing stone wall in the basement to open up the room. When he was removing the stone  the water main broke and water was spraying everywhere. Luke had to run to Home Depot to get a part to fix it so needless to say we had some water in the basement. I came over in my rain boots to bring him some dry clothes and helped him get things cleaned up. Things don't always go smoothly when you are doing a renovation!  Here are some pics that I took over the weekend to record the progress and the little mess!

Here is my inspiration for some built ins and a window seat for the nursery. We just need to get a roof on it first!
