Less than a month to go!

Its pretty crazy that both the completion of the house and the arrival of baby Dominick are right around the corner! Today is day one of 37 weeks so technically I could have this baby anytime now. I'm hoping Dominick stays in there a little longer so I can get get even more ready for him and at least get his nursery set up in the new house. I know that's out of my hands so I just have to hope for the best.

Luke has been crazy busy trying meet his goal of mid February for the house to be completed. Every little thing affects the timeline and if one thing gets delayed it really has a domino effect. I keep asking him if he thinks we bit off way more than we can chew but he never seems to be phased by it. I think he secretly likes the pressure and stress sometimes. I know I wouldn't be able to deal with it so I give him credit!

As for the house,  since the last time I posted, the siding has been completed, hardwood and tile floors have been installed, trim and walls have been painted, cabinets installed and built ins put in. A walkway to the front door was also put in so we no longer have to tiptoe through the mud to get inside! That makes me so happy! We officially have electricity so Don (Luke's Dad) is coming to help him install the appliances. The stone work on the fireplace is also getting completed.

Check out the pictures below to see the changes.

The Chandelier in my dressing room. Love!

The built ins around the fireplace before they are painted. The guy really did a nice job!

Baby D's room! I did the walls a light gray to go with the bedding ensemble. The built ins add a great touch and will be great for storing all of his books and stuff.

Hall Bath

Master Bath! I've never had a tub like this before so I'm super excited. We did a light gray/blue on the walls to match the trim tile.

As I said, I am officially starting my 37 weeks of pregnancy! I had a good doctor's appointment today and he told me all of the signs to look out for to determine if I'm in labor or not. He still expects Dominick to be a 7 to 8 lb baby which is says is average for a baby boy. I can't focus too much on thinking about the delivery. It just makes me nervous!

Luke was a good sport last week and took some pictures with me before I'm too uncomfortable to do so. Thanks to my Dad for being our photographer. :)

I found this cute saying on Pinterest. I thought it would be cute to put in his nursery!

This week was great because my co workers threw me a surprise baby shower and gave me a lot of great gifts for the baby! I thought I could hold it together but they gave me a handmade blanket with personalized messages to me and the baby on it and I couldn't help but get choked up. I am always impressed by the generosity of people and feel so thankful. Here is a picture of the blanket :) I plan to hang it in Dominick's nursery.

I hope to post again by the end of the week because a lot more will be happening at the house. Please feel free to post comments and let me know what you think. Thanks for checking in!

Closer to Completion!

It's been a busy and exciting week both for Luke and I getting ready for the baby and working on the house! There has been a lot going on at the house since I last posted. The siding and shutters are almost up so the outside has really made a transformation. The drywall is complete and the painting crew has started to paint the trim and the ceilings. Luke and his good friend Adam worked hard all Saturday to install lighting fixtures and get the house prepared for the next stages. Starting tomorrow, the flooring crew is going to start installing the hard wood and tile. The paint crew will continue to paint this week and add some color to the walls. Looking back its hard to believe what the house looked like before. Luke truly has a knack for putting this all together :)

As for getting ready for baby Dominick, I had my baby shower last Sunday and am so thankful for everyone that came and for all of the wonderful gifts that baby Dominick has received! The thoughtfulness and generosity of everyone is so humbling and it makes me feel truly blessed. Besides not having a house, I officially feel ready for the baby to get here! I have taken over my parents house and an entire room has been dedicated to storing all of the baby stuff. I can admit now that I am in nesting phase and have been busy making things for the baby nursery. Even though the room isn't done yet, I will be ready to decorate the nursery when the time comes!

Below are some pictures of the progress this week :)

Some of the things I have been making to go in the nursery to stick with the whale and nautical theme. I can't wait to see how the room will come together!

Even with the cold and snow we still made progress!

By the end of last week both the siding and drywall crews were hard at work. By Saturday, all of the drywall had been hung in the house and the siding had started to be installed on the side and the back of the house. Luke and I had spent weeks going back on what siding color to use so we are happy with the results! We were really worried about it being too dark but I love how it pops against the white trim and the black windows. It also looks really great with the existing stone. With the drywall up, the rooms in the house have really started to take shape. This is always one of my favorite stages of renovating because for people like me that have a hard time visioning the end results, it really helps.

I have officially surpassed 32 weeks! Thanks to my Dad for being my photographer. :) I figured I would take my weekly picture in the snow for a change of background. I had another doctor's appointment this week and everything is progressing normally. Dominick is still in the right position and continues to be very active. He is almost five lbs this week or the size of an average cantaloupe. I just love the food comparisons!
